About the Role

The Head of Property and Facilities has primary responsibility for ensuring all freehold and leasehold properties owned and occupied by the organisation are managed and maintained in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements and are fit for purpose for the services we deliver to clients.

This will be done by:

  • developing a corporate approach to property in line with organisational objectives;
  • taking a proactive approach to managing leasing and renewals, ensuring efficiency and a minimal disruption to core operations;
  • manage the maintenance of occupied facilities from a planned and reactive perspective.
  • ensure procurement of external service providers are robust and efficient, contractual obligations are met, and high-quality service is consistently delivered
  • provide guidance and leadership to the internal property and facilities team, ensuring high engagement and a focus on supporting the core functions of the organisation.
  • setting budgets and monitoring financial performance implementing corrective actions as needed to meet organizational goals.

They will also work closely with the leadership team to understand future strategy around service provision and develop property solutions to support these initiatives in desired geographic locations.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Property & Facilities is a busy, challenging and fast paced role and key deliverables include;

  • Continually drive innovation within The Benevolent Society property portfolio that aligns with organisational growth plans.
  • Responsibility for the development and implementation of the strategic property and facilities operations strategy
  • Oversight of all new and existing property leasing requirements.
  • Leadership of a small team of direct reports
  • Management of external service contracts, including outsourced facilities maintenance services
  • Forecast annual budgets, prepare routine asset services schedules and lease management plans
  • Embrace The Benevolent Society vision and values and foster this culture amongst the team whilst driving high performance.

Skills and Experience

To be successful you must possess the following:

  • Experience working in the not-for-profit sector is preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading and developing staff
  • Exceptional stakeholder holder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes
  • High integrity, respect, professionalism and a passion to enrich the lives of others
  • Subject matter expertise in property, leasing, compliance and facilities
